Brent is an attorney and wealth manager with nearly 20 years of focused estate planning and investment experience. His practice is a holistic blend of estate planning, income planning and retirement planning. He combines these disciplines with his clients for greater flexibility, synergy and accountability. His areas of expertise include estate planning using wills and trusts (revocable, irrevocable, and special purpose trusts such as QPRTs, SNTs, and Standalone IRA trusts); also tax, income and estate planning with qualified retirement plans such as 401(k), IRAs, Roth IRAs and other employer sponsored plans. Common client goals include income stability, investment growth and stability, tax reduction and efficient estate distribution.
He was educated at Brigham Young University (B.A. 1994) and the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona (J.D. 1997) He is an active member of the Utah State Bar Estate Planning Section and the Salt Lake Estate Planning Council. Continuing education is heavily skewed toward forward-looking estate planning techniques, IRA planning, and tax.
Brent enjoys spending time with his wife Karen (m. 1992) and four children Sara, Amanda, Joshua and Megan. He loves outdoor activities such as flyfishing, hiking/backpacking, and gardening.
